Nashville, TN: The Melting Pot

One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.

Happy Friday! I know I claimed in my first post that I’m quite the foodie, so I guess I better prove it, huh?

A few weeks ago, I went with a few of my good friends to the magical city of Nashville. There are so many intriguing things about this city, especially the food.

We decided after stopping at the Opry Mill that we would head downtown to explore and grab a bite to eat. We ended up finding a place I had heard of on Twitter called “The Melting Pot.” And the name describes exactly what the restaurant entails.

Let me just describe this place in a few words for you: melted. cheese. melted. chocolate. I guess the fancy term would be “fondue.”

Yeah, a food lover’s DREAM.

First, we got to pick out the type of cheese and wine base we wanted in our fondue. We chose a mozzarella and white wine base with garlic basil. After ordering, the ingredients were brought to our table and put into our “melting pot.” It literally melted right on our table. How cool is that?

When the fondue was done melting, the waiter brought out a dish of items we could dip into the fondue. Apples, bread, nuts, carrots, and broccoli were all on the dish.

Now I am not a food critic by any means, but the mixture of the bread and garlic fondue was SO good.

When we were done with our entree, the waiter brought us the dessert menu. We were able to pick what types of chocolate we wanted mixed together to melt. We chose milk chocolate with Irish cream.

I thought the fondue was good… little did I know.

We got another tray of samplers to dip in our chocolate once it was melted. Strawberries, bananas, brownies, blondies, roasted marshmallows, pineapple, and rice krispie treats laid scattered across the platter. It was simply mouthwatering.

The Melting Pot’s food is not only delicious, but the vibe of the restaurant is also intriguing. The restaurant is set in downtown Nashville in the basement of an old building.

Brick walls and dim lighting set the mysterious and sensual tone of the restaurant, making you feel as if you were a couple in a movie going on an expensive date.

The whole experience of the Melting Pot was magnificent, making it an overall amazing evening with my friends to catch up.
